Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, smoke, and tar. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of tar and smoke. The body is light.

Handbottled.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy smoke - peat - rope, roasted, burnt. Flavor is heavy burnt rubber and tar with a long long long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090321]

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Very dark brown, small head. Evident aroma of tar pastilles. Dryish and dense, medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Lots of tar and salmiac. Rubbery very bitter finish. Intense and interesting, but I’m not wholeheartedly convinced.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of oh6gdx. Pours a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a small, rough beige head. Distinctly smoked, tar-like aroma. Medium body, some burned malt but otherwise completely dominated by fat and tar-like smoke accents. Fairly bitter finish. I didn’t find the smoke in this one all too pleasant. 210309

Bottle. Very smoky aroma, strange bonfire. Almost black colour, seems clear. The flavour is very smoky, there is some salami and ham in there. Some muddy yeast underneath, making it less enjoyable.

33 cL hand bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Solid salami and roasted malty aroma. Leathery and dry. Flavour has the same smoked note from back of the nose yet the base flavour is mild winous and fruity grape flavoured. Mild flavoured yet with a strong aroma component. One of a kind.

Tar, bitterness, whisky, fruitiness, sweetness, tar flavoured candy Tervaleijona and roastedness in taste. Bitterness and tar in aftertaste.

(Draught@brewpub). Dark brown, almost opaque color, steady small espresso head. Aroma of smoke, wet wood and salted licorice. Medium bodied. Lots of, lots of fruity NZ hops and licorice. Dry mouthfeel with an impressive late smokey taste. Aftertaste comes with salted licorice and hoppy bitterness. Although this is not brewed with Bambergian malts, this tastes like Schlenkerla Urbock with extra hops added. Despite of being very hoppy and smokey, this "Bad Santa" is extremely drinkable.
