Smooth malt Flavors of this Belgian-style abbey ale are complimented by traditional imported ingredients. A slightly spicy and complex flavor makes this European celebration-style beer unique and refreshing.

Pour a murky brown/orange, with a big thick beige head. Aroma is very fruity, lots of plums, and figs, and lots of apples, with a tinge of metal that i detect often in belgian strong ales. The body is very thick and syrupy. FLavour is.....whoa.......this is sweet, cloyingly sweet. Wow, i can;t kick the sweetness it’s just sticking in the back of my throat, the big malty sweetness just overpowers everything, and it’s all i’m tasting now. The finish is slightly bitter with a touch of dark fruit. Hmmm.....can’t say i loved it, but i can’t say i hated it. But i wouldnt have it again. Seriously a sweet syrupy mess.

355ml can from Kaffee Bazaar webshop. F: medium, tan, quick gone. C: coppery, light hazy. A: malty, mellow fruity, bit caramel, spicy, banana, pears, bit honey. T: full malty base, mellow fruity, caramel, spicy, banana, pears, honey, bready, soft carbonation, not so complex but Belgian style is obvious here, enjoyed.

650ml bottle. Cloudy, copper-ish, dark amber colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally sugary, mellow malty and yeasty fruity aroma, notes of sweet cherry and honey, a touch of dried fruit, raisin, apricot. Taste is sweet, slightly sugary, caramel malty, slightly yeasty fruity, hints of dried fruit, raisin, apricot, some honey and sweet cherry; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft, silky, and minimally cloying palate, very fine, soft to flat carbonation. Not overly complex, but harmonious and balanced, well crafted - a big beer, but the style definitely does not come under Hoppin' Frog's main competence.

A reddish brown, a head is small and blond. Aroma has fruitness, brittish orange marmelade some dry cake, fruit candies and wood. Sophisticated. Taste has richness of (dry-)cake, some orange in marmelade and fruit candies. Full bodied, low carbonation. Not a belgian style, but more like brittish. Sophisticated, strong and dried fruity. All styles of beers are just succesfully from Hoppin Frog.

Gylden brun klar med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter karamell, kandissukker og noe røde frukter. Smaker søtt, noe brent karamell, knekk. Søt noe brent lang avslutning.
