Gut! 8/11/11/10/10/11

Bottle. Sweet caramel chocolate malt and light grassy hops aroma. Chestnut brown color with moderate head. Sweet malt initially with moderately bitter weedy hops. Medium body. Okay - not particularly fond of the bitterness.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted breadish and dark malty. Roasted breadish and distinct bitter. Lasting roasted and breadish into a dry and malty finish.

The bottle looks really good, as well as the beer in the glass. Very dark, almost black, nice head. Starts surprisingly mild, malty-dry, a bit smoky background. Finish metallically, still mild, a bit moldy. Not so good.

Bottled (BZ, BB 07/2010)
My first beer from this brewery.
Dark ruby-brown color, small beige head. Caramel malty, malty, brown sugar aroma. Medium-bodied. Flavor has some chocolate, coffee, caramel malts then grassy hoppy bitterness in the slightly toasted malty finish and aftertaste. Some ashy notes. Tasty, well-brewed dunkel with above average hoppyness.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear dark brown colour, large beige head. Malty-roasty nose. Medium-bodied, malty with intensive roast flavours, hints of caramel and toffee. Balanced off with a good amount of bitter and aromtaic hops. Rather hopy for a Dunkel, but it suits the beer well. Well-balanced Dunkel.

Bottle: Light chestnut-amber coloured, quickly collapsing loose beige head; relatively dry caramelly nose with a good dash of toasted malt; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; quite dry - again - roasted finish with a tinge of hops in the aftertaste. Nothing to complain......

(bottle) Clear, reddish brown colour with a fluffy tanned foamy head. Fresh aroma of moderately sweet toasted malt with caramel, chestnuts and a dash of herbal hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a lightly fizzy carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly ashy taste with caramel and herbal hoppy notes; dry and slightly toasty and hop bitter finish (21.II.09).
