Deep clear amber. Full white head. Big bitterness. The original Holt’s Bitter is what we’re built on. A true icon, English beer and Manchester Bitter.

Much like our northern roots, this cask bitter is full of character with light caramel and malty notes that develop into a solid base with punchy, earthy hops. Biting bitterness from the carefully selected English hops is balanced out by the best English pale ale malt and a gentle carbonation to leave a silky-smooth finish.

Quenchingly good, this is a proper bitter beer.

Kwg at Waterloo Tap. Aroma has low key mats at best. Clear chestnut brown. Foamy blotchy white head. Medium bitter..Grainy. Woody. Muddy. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Like licking mud.

Cask at Old Monkey, Manchester. Nil aroma. Golden brown, but without the satisfaction of heroin. Creamy but blotchy white head. Bitterness is struggling to come through like some shitty seance. Although has more in the finish when it gets a citrus edge. Light-medium bodied. Long low key finish. Old Trev gets this served to him as soon as he walks into his local. One of those bitters to down without worrying what it tastes like.

A proper pint of old school bitter. Clear amber with a frothy/creamy off-white head. Soft fruit and malt on the nose, smooth and semi-creamy with a fruity malty taste and a kick of bitterness

Pint at Winters Stockport. Slight malt aroma. Flat bronze beer with solid white head. Watery mouthfeel with hoppy bitter finish. More bitter than regional rivals. Not bad.
