(Cask at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 26 July) Colour is dark brown with ruby hints, little head. Nose is malty with some chocolate and berries (blueberries and blackberries). Taste is malty and nutty (almond) with wild berries (mainly blueberries) and a dry finish with some delicate bitterness. Rather fruity mild.

Cask handpull Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Black beer, touches of ruby, thickish dark beige head. Not a huge aroma. Some coffee. Fine in mouth, some grain. Finish has a bit of a juicy feel, some cherry. Just not enough flavour

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, while the flavor is of caramel combined with notes of roasted malt, lending the beer a dryness, but the body is thin.
