Old rating from 25-12-14 - Perfect for Christmas Day, from the brewery earlier in the year on my Wales road trip. Pours amber with a good size white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, red berries, toffee, honey, earth, hints of spice & malt. Medium body. Light to medium fruity bitter finish. Highly enjoyable

Bottle. Appearance - amber with a thin but not unattractive head. Nose - honey, malt. Taste - toffee, honey, dried oranges. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher to be honest. Overall - didn’t get the blueberry. More of an Old Ale. So so!

50cl bottle pours a clear, caramel amber with some cloudy, white head. Nose has malt, a little apple, passion fruit, orange. Flavor has lots of fruit, passion/apple, light candy, some spice. Smooth on the finish.

500ml bottle brought to the November 2015 DC tasting. Poured an amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweet malts, light citrus notes. Caramel, light toffee, some touch of earthy hops. Okay.

500 ml bottle conditioned, thanks to my beerpal Olav. Gyle: OHO005. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of Christmas spices, possibly including coriander, cinnamon and cloves, hints of citrus. Refreshing citrussy and distinctly spicy / peppery flavour. Aftertaste of pepper and bitter hops. Not your average Christmas ale, but quite enjoyable.

Old Fountain. Cask. Lightly hazy gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is smooth with modest fine carbonation. Semi dry malt, touch of cream. Light malt rawness as well, nothing serious. Whisper of banana ester. Mellow orangey hop, bare whsipernof spice. Smooth finish. Quite drinkable.
