Cask at the Rake, Borough, 28/12/13. Clear golden with a moderate white covering that retains well. Nose is light spice, bitter orange, caramel, bready malts. Taste comprises light must, winter spices, bitter orange, dark fruit tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry bittering closure. Ok offering, nothing I’d rush back to mind - assume the classic ’whelmed’ formation!

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Slightly citrusy and earthy beer with some satsuma/tangerine fruit on the finish. Why I keep buying Otley beers believing that they are good, I don’t know. Some sherberty hop on aroma.

500ml bottle as O-HO-HO (Thanks Mungo) - Dark golden/amber in colour with a bit of a haze which lets it down on the appearance front. Lively carbonation with a fruity, hoppy and very slightly gassy aroma and a hint of grapefruit. Bitter, fruity taste with the blueberries being noticeable but in a subtle way. Nicely balanced and enjoyable.
