cask at Guildford Arms about a month ago - Pours pale gold. No surprise, this one smells like raspberries. It tastes of sweet malt with ample raspberry. The hops is quite minimal. It’s fairly sweet right through to the finish. It’s really a decent brew, but be aware it’s more of a fruit beer than a bitter.

Cask at NWAF 2009. A hazy light golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of artificial fruit. The flavor is very sweet with notes of artificial fruit as my childhood watered down fruit juice. The body is light.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. This was a case of guess the fruit, the bar staff didn’t know what was supposed to be in it; unfortunately raspberry wasn’t the answer I came up with at a blind tasting. The beer was gold with a thin cream head; aroma was grainy with a touch of orange; certainly fruity flavours, I got dry cherry and grape, but with hindsight there was probably some raspberry in there somewhere. Bitter and dry to finish. Overall rather unbalanced, lacking any fruit sweetness.

A golden orange colour, mellow fruity nose, quite fruit but no real character to it.
