Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a small shortlasting offwhite head. Aroma of caramel and bready malts, toffee, chocolate. Taste is caramel, chocolate notes, sweet dried dark fruit, raisins, little xmas spices. Medium body, very soft carbonation ( might have lost some over the years, this bottle is almost at BBD). Pretty nice old ale. 080111

Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. I got this from a trade with The Wolf I think. Choc aroma. Really drinkable. Rather good in mouth, lovely and creamy swallow. Good. I love Christian, one of the world’s great brewers, but I hear he is not brewing anymore. I hope this is wrong as he has created some of the best beers I’ve had.

500ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen in mid-May this year and matured in my cellar for a few months. Fading, off-white head. Spotty lacework on the glass. Deep, ruby coloured body. Aroma of semi-sweet malts joined by dry hops. Quite nice blended of brown and black malts in flavour with notes of dark fruits breaking through. Discreet yeasty hints towards the ending. Medium bodied. Fine drinkability and just alright relaxing at home on a Friday evening (Tromsø, 16.10.2009).

Bottle. A dark ruby, slightly hazy beer with a creamy beige head on top. Caramel, a little oxidized touch, resiny hops and alcohol on the nose. The flavor starts caramel sweet with some oxidation notes, then the resiny hops and alcohol fights its way through, and the beer finishes bitter and slightly warming. Full-bodied, warming and with an appropriate level of carbonation. All in all it’s a slightly boring and strange old ale, sort of missing something. Far from bad though. )
