This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

12oz bottle from Pinch poured into a shaker. Pours a very cloudy dark orange with about a finger of white head. Aroma is mostly citrus hops with a little bit of pine. A little malt in there too. Aroma is medium bitter and lightly sweet. Lots of orange citrus hops and a bit of caramel and honey. Medium bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, bitter finish. Overall, absolutely great. Would gladly drink this every day.

Rich, dense copper coloured body with a thin, tan head. Aroma of pure grapefruit and piney hops with a lot of alcohol, a bunch of malt and a good amount of citrus. Full-bodied; Strong hop bitterness up front with a large malt presence and a deep citrus and piney taste, all showing a ton of alcohol. Aftertaste is astringent and a bit resiny, also with a bitterness which persists. Overall, a good imperial ipa, not amazing, but showing good hop character. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 06-November-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 16-December-2010.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy amber with a foamy off-white head. Floral aroma backed by a bit of roast caramel. Full bodied with foamy carbonation. This is not a NW hop bomb, but it is a hop bomb. The flavor is all over hop. Lots of fruit. Lots of floral. I think this could be used as preservative. Just excellent.

Bottle. Vinous hop aroma, slightly grassy. Cloudy dark orange colour. Small creamy white head. The flavour is quite hoppy, and also vinous. OK combination between grassy hops and vinousness.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has strong notes of grass, hops, grapefruit, and caramel - lovely hoppy. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of hops, grass, and grapefruit, leading to a very dry grassy finish.

On tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured amber with a light brown head. Strong hop smell like a wet forest or marijuana. Flavor is overly hopped and leads to a wet wood taste. Something was a bit off here.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Offwhite head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Orange and resin aromas. Sticky sweet honey upfront with orange and grapefruit. Lasting weed resin finish. Alcohol is very well hidden.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange amber with some floating debris and a stable off-white head. Aroma very citrusy hops with a touch of spiciness and a definite sweetness, but a little weak overall. Flavor is nice and hoppy citrus with a bit of sweetness. Nice bitterness, but a bit of alcohol pokes through in the flavor. Bitter, dry finish with some biscuit flavors. A pretty nice, simple IIPA.
