Unexpectedly sweet, lots of honey and sugary grain cereal with an undercurrent of apple and toast, finished off by a firm floral bitterness. Not bad.

13 oz. draft. Littleton Freehouse. Aroma is soft honey grain and light yeast. Flavor has the honey, mild white bready malt. with a steady amount of herb bitterness. Good mouthfeel with a good body and light crisp finish.

My 20th von Trapp beer rating. 16 ounce can from Pinocchio’s in Media, PA. Honey gold color. Fluffy white head. Bready malt aroma has a hint of honeysuckle. Flavor is sweet malt and herbal hops. Notes of honey and cut grass. Some minerality and spiciness as well. Wonderful balance and flavor. An excellent example of the Dortmunder style.

Pour is a darker gold with a large white head. Aroma is biscuit malt with also a bit of honey malt. Flavor is bready and dry with a little sweetness on the back end with a thicker than usual for the style mouthfeel. This was pretty good but the only negative and it is minor is that there was not much of a hop presence.

Can, best by 7/26/2025, drunk 4/8/2025.
Clear deep brass-copper. Medium-sized, white head, lower retention.
Lightly toasted grain with a deep base malt adding a rich honey-like character. Clean and bright with a good complexity and mild, yet aromatic, herbal hop notes.
Rich and malty, maybe a touch soft and mushy, with very low bitterness. But there's some biscuit, some bitterness and an excellent complexity of malt, regardless. Clean, rich, malty.

Can at home. Deep golden pour and fine white top. Nose is bready, some malt, and honey. Tatses very similar. Semi sweet finish. Chewy palate.
