500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy brown colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Fairly nice aroma of brown malts, brown sugar and spices (star anise and coriander), hints of orange peel. Nice malty flavour, not too sweet but still with notes of brown sugar, the star anise is fortunately used with moderation, and does not dominate. The coriander and orange peel seem also to have been used with moderation - all in all a fairly well balanced beer.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with small white head. Aroma is roasted malt, sweet and acidic apples, boiled potatoes, caramel and strawberry yoghurt. Taste is medium acidic, light sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is watery to light oily with good carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes that follow the nose.

Hazy red brown beer, small suddy tan head. Slightly dry palate. Like a light barleywine. A little cream in the malt. Tiny bit of ginger and mixed spices. Undertone of fruit. Semi dry finish with medium bitterness in the aftertaste. Intriguing little beer - always interesting but never spectacular.

Hazy copper with a lasting off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with anise. Sweet toffee flavour with anise dominating the spicy notes. Rather one dimensional for someone sensitive to anise
