A beer where the flavor splashes off on all sides, think delicious notes of caramel and a hint of toffee. After which its dark malt gives the beer a beautiful dark color. Sit Down, light out & enjoy.

Can split at CBJ Tasting Night, thanks to Kenneth, 09/04/2025.
Chestnut brown topped with a moderately presented beige head.
Nose is toffee, dried fruit esters, biscuit.
Taste comprises caramel, fruit cake, biscuit, grains, herb, stewed fruits.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a mellow rising boost.
Okay barley wine but expected more ... lacks depth for the hefty boost.

330 ml can. Pours a deep reddish brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of brown sugar, toffee, syrupy dark fruity and bready malts. Flavors of toffee, honey, raisins, candied pecans, and dry bready malts. Warm finish, otherwise the ABV is not that obvious . Dry finish for a sweet beer. Excellent.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy ruby/brown body with a beige head that slowly fades. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of prune, oak and toffee. Flavour of honey and liquorice. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Strong and sweet, with the alcohol well hidden. Less complex than I thought it would be.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before December 2028. A bit hazy, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, strawberry and some chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a bit fruity taste of caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts, coffee, cinnamon and a touch of strawberry, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very different compared to Kees' other Barley Wines, much more chocolate and no dark fruits in the flavour. Not really my cup of tea.
