GB Julebryg is brewed on a mixture of belgian aromamalt and german münchermalt. Thereafter to types of sugar is added, after british tradition, that contributes with sweetness. As something special for this beer there is added a spice mixture consisting of nutmeg, cinnamon and honey. These three ingredients harmonizes greatly with the selection of sugar in the beer. Naturally there is hops in the beer also but not too much.

Bottle, 7.3%. Rough fruity aroma. Hazy dark brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is mildly caramelly, a bit rough. A bit of grassy hoppiness, but overpowered by the rough caramel.

Draught@Pikkulintu
Deep ruby color, good creamy beige head. Slightly chocolaty, roasted, barnyardish and caramelly nose. Caramelly, slightly dark chocolaty flavor, light hops in the finish and some dusty roastyness. Sweetish, quite uninteresting.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A clear, copper-colored beer with a small, beige head. Caramel, some spiced notes and a little anise in the aroma. Caramel sweetness, a little spicyness and bitterness in the flavor, quite decent but nothing special. Medium body and nice carbonation level. Some bitterness in the finish. There’s too much caramel in this one, at least for a Christmas beer, giving it a cheap-ish touch. But a decent beer it is. 090724
