Bready, malty, solid cereals, with touches of caramel sweetness. Light hops, medium bitterness, good mouthfeel.

From tap at Brooklyn Brewery, New York. Brown-ish malt aroma with caramel, dark bread, notes of dried and stewed fruits, some toffee. Medium sweet, light to moderate bitterness.

2023 edition (5.5% ABV). Pours a clear copper colour and a frothy light beige head. Aroma's: malty, a bit fruity, fruit candy. Retronasal it's malty, a bit stale, herbs. Flavour is light sweet with a hint of bitter. Light bodied. Proper carbonation. Finish is slightly dry with just light bitterness.

12oz can. Deep malty caramel. Not really spot on for the style, malts are a little earthy and imperfect. Aroma isn't that pleasant. Overall a pretty lackluster offering, weak example of the style.

A festbier in märzen’s clothing. Dark color is märzen-ish, but the light breadiness and green/floral hoppiness skew towards its October cousin. Splits the middle between the two styles, and excels in neither.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet malt, oak. Taste has lightly hopped malt base with the typical Pilsen-type sweetness. Palate has a nose element that’s hard to describe, typical of Brooklyn lager. Some continuity between the two.

On tap at a gig venue. Pours orange brown. Strawberry, cherry, booze, caramel. Medium body. Bit messy.
