Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Bottle - Sweet malts and grain. Clear copper with a thin disappearing head. Grains and bread with a dry bitter finish. A bit too much grain and too little balancing sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Purchased a 6-pack of this at the LCBO. This Oktoberfest brew pours a deep amber (almost copper) colour with a big creamy light beige head, good retention and some spotty lacing. Big toasty bread malt aromas with caramel, alcohol and hints of hop. The taste is pretty mild compared to the scent. Lightly malted with noted of grass in the aftertaste. Not too sweet, which is good. An average Marzen that could of been quite good, had it matched its taste to its nose.

Bottle from Appellation Wines, Pours a lovely auburn with a thin but attractive thin white head. The nose is of malty biscuits, with gentle ginger and perhaps cinnamon spice. The taste has more big spice biscuit notes. The palate is generous for a lager style, a medium body with a rustic and tangy texture and a clean finish. Overall, a lovely full flavoured marzen.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before Feb 2013. Pours fairly crystal clear copper orange color with a nice 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some light spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, apple, pear, and herbal. Nice aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, and light herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of pear, caramel, nuttiness, biscuit, and light herbal spiciness on the finish for a short bit. Good amount of flavor with decent balance; no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a nice creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Oktoberfest. Solid flavor balance and complexity; and very smooth to drink. I enjoyed this, a good example of the style.

Bottle. Bottle. Brown sugar and light dusty-soapy hops aroma. Clear copper with a moderate beige head. Sweet nutty flavor with a mild grassy bitter finish,. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Pretty hoppy for a marzen.

12 Fl Oz Brown bottle, best before Mar 2011, drank early Nov 2010 in my hotel lounge, Cork, Ireland. The beer poured an autuminal dark orange, almost an Irish Red beer colour. The thin covering of bubbles fell away quicker than I liked, leaving not even a collar. The aroma was of malts, mixed bag of malts, semi-sweet molasses and some bready smells too. The taste wasn’t too great, malty without a hop presence, disappointing to be honest. The body was weak and uninspiring, not impressed at all. Just a poor malty beer with 5.5%ABV hidden somewhere in it. The worst O’Fest beer I’ve ever had.
