Draught Clear with creamy head. Honney aroma. Light malty with smooth mouthfeel

On tap at the The Pub in downtown Louisville Fourth Street Live (great place). Pours golden with white head that stays around, nice lacing, and a little low carbonation. Not big on aroma, fairly well balanced, taste is creamy malt, light ester, and hint of nut. More like a combination of bitter and pale ale than a true bitter, a bit watery.

This nitro can produced an amusing explosion and only a quick grab of my glass prevented a mess. I learned my lesson about these things a while ago, but the Boddingtons widget seemed particularly aggressive. Initially, the beer appears to be a nearly solid off-white head, a roiling mass of tiny bubbles jostling their way to the top. The head settles into a stiff foam, like an over-frothed cappuccino. It looks like you could rest change on top of that head. The beer itself is a pale-yellow gold, a bit disappointing after the big special effects display of the nitrogen. The smell is quite weak. Malty but thin and generic. The feel is a bit watery, which is particularly disappointing when compared to the tap version. I remember Boddingtons having a much creamier, richer feel from my trip to the UK. I had a particularly enjoyable night of drinking Boddingtons once on a ferry from France to Ireland. That was a weird twenty or so hours.

Drank many cans years ago, love the widget-induced head, good English ale. Very smooth, could have been stronger for my liking.

Can. Golden in colour and poured with a dense white head. Aroma of sweetish biscuit malts and something metallic. Flavour was sweet, with a slightly watery mouth feel and industrial, bitter finish. Drinkable but not pleasant.
