From a 500ml bottle on 2/8/2020. Pours a slightly murky deep amber brown with a smallish head that dissipates quickly. Has a quite a strong aroma of stewed and dried fruit, toffee, butterscotch, caramel nuts and a bit of spice, against a light whisky background. The flavour is pretty much everything I've just described re the nose. It's intense - very sweet up front but this is tempered by a firm, sharp, tangy, quite spicy and slightly boozy finish. The mouthfeel is slick and a touch syrupy, but was expecting a bit more body given the size of the beer. The carbonation is relatively soft. All up, a complex and very enjoyable sipper, if not an absolute home run.
