Dark brown color. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt, maybe coffee, and a light sourness. The mouthfeel is very dry, medium weak, with a flavor between the dark caramel, the roasted malt and light coffee. There is something wrong here.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark ruby, clear beer with a small, off-white head. Roasted aroma with fruity hops in the background, as well as a wee hint of molasses. Roasted flavor, with some caramel-sweetness. Not much hop there. Medium to full body. The finish is roasted, with a little fruityness, but could use more power. The best of the Bryggen beers so far. I find all the beers a bit thin and not as powerful as I would like them to be, but maybe they would go better with some of the food they serve? Or at least on the patio on a hot summer day.
