Light Beer on kevyesti humaloitu, vaalea lagerolut, jonka jälkimaku on raikas. Light-oluille on tyypillistä matala kantavierrepitoisuus ja pitkälle viety olutkäyminen. Niiden tuloksena energiasisältö jää alhaiseksi. Light Beer sisältää gluteenia alle 20 ppm eli 2 mg/100 ml, joten se sopii myös keliaakikoille.

Light Beer ’Kotkaolut’ lanseerattiin vuonna 1982, ja se oli pitkään Suomen ensimmäinen ja ainoa kevytolut.

Light Beer on palkittu useaan kertaan The Brewing Industry International Awards -kilpailussa Englannissa. Vuonna 2008 Light Beer voitti hopeamitalin USA:ssa järjestetyssä World Beer Cupissa gluteenittomien oluiden sarjassa

Smell of starch. Golden colour. Aroma of starch, malt. Medium bitter. Lively carbon. Meh.

Saxon. Lys brun klar med tynt hvitt skum. Malt og korn og noe metallisk lukt. Lite smak, noe bitterhet. Trasige greier

500ml can sold as Saxon in the UK. Clear amber coloured beer with foam white head that dissipates away to a thin layer and aroma of grain & hay. Light sweetish grainy flavour with hint of grassy bitterness. Watery thin body, medium to high carbonation, dry at the finish. Fairly bland, OK for gluten free.

Can from Systembolaget Hansacompagniet as Saxon 4.1. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, light malty and corn. Flavor is medium sweet and slightly bitter. Sweet finish. Very watery. 130813

50 cl. can labelled Saxon @ home, bought @ Coop. Pale yellow with a white head. Grainy aroma. Thin metallic taste. Gluten-free and taste-free.

Golden with a white head - Some malt in the aroma - Malts in the body, but there is not much of hop bitterness here - Short and thin malt ending - This was this and boring

Bottle. Pale golden colour with no head. Sunk, metallic malt aroma. Flavour is dirty watery. Poured into the drain after a few sips.
