This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color lager with a medium size foamy head with good retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt is really dominant. Taste is more accentuated then expected with huge caramel malt backbone with nice balancing residual sugar aftertaste. Body is full with some limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very well done for the style with great character.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a clear copper with a thick creamy off white head with good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet malt with toast and light caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a bready malt with spicy grain and a nice bitter dry finish. Easy to drink, a very good marzen from left hand.

Bottle. Pours a coppery amber with a thin head of dense foam. Aromas are a nice mix of earthy and sweet malts. Caramel, nuts, wet leaves... Flavor is a watery mix of caramel and nuts and seems to need a little more oomph. That said, it is fairly crisp for the style.

Malty and rather doughy. Light caramel, and toast. A decent brew but can’t say I love it.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head leaving traces of lacing. Malty, slightly fruity nose with caramel, syrupy bread, citrus, orange peel and toffee. Malty, spicy taste with bread, orange peel, toffee and citrussy hops. Medium body, not overly sweet, turns drier in a medium bitter finish with spicy, citrussy hops. Nice and well balanced, somewhere in between the classic German oktoberfestbeers and the hoppier, darker American versions. Nice one.

Bottled (LOT 16/07/08). Thanks oh6gdx. Deep clear amber color, small off-white head. Typical a bit caramelly, rye bready Märzen aroma. Quite caramelly malty, some bready and toasted notes. Suprisingly quite Vienna-like (and dunkler bock) flavor instead of Märzen. Sweetness covers alcohol, feels much less than 6 %. Less hops than in many American oktoberfestbiers.

[BOTTLED] Pours amber with a firm head. Sweet, malty aroma with notes of dark berries. Flavour is quite sweet with a smooth and rounded maltiness with notes of dark berries and honey. Could easily be mistaken for a Dunkler Bock.

My first Oktoberfest of this year...bottle..sweet malty aroma with the same sweetness in the mouth...candy malt with a nice backbone of finishing malts as well...very easy to drink...a smooth body with minimal carbonation, just enough to make this an easy going beer...accompanies the world series wonderfully...red tinged body with a hint of a head...bananas in the finish of this brew
