15 years of brewing! You know what’s been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we’ve been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it’s tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we’ve created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

Yes, it’s a bit like drinking horse sweat. Yes, it smells like someone let an old goat swim around it in as it fermented. Yes, I’m a little grossed out by the experience... but ultimately quite pleased. You just have to accept that this is a big funky wild ale, and if you’re not up for a weird ride, you probably should leave it on the shelf. It’s a golden beer with a good head. The nose is fruity and spicy with a healthy funk. The taste has bitter and sweet notes with with a lot of fruit (sort of a bittersweet lemon) and twang. In fact, it has a pretty big twang to it. The mouthfeel is pretty great. Lots of funk.

Aroma: Funky brett aroma, spices, horse blanket
Taste: Spicey/sour fruits, straw and bready
A very different beer, but not for me. The best thing about this beer is the packaging....

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a slightly hazy yellow-golden color with a huge yellow-white head. The aroma was an enticing blend of sweet apricot and pear. The flavor was dry, tart and funky with undertones of pear and apricot and touches of vague spices. The finish was long, tart, sour and dry. Medium body. The alcohol was well hidden. Interesting.

clear orange, small thick white head. aroma is brett, spices, rubber. flavor is quite dry and brett like, ends spicy and slighly fruity swetish. beneath the brett flavor hides a very nice balanced spicy belgian style beer.

Strong aroma of vinegar, cider, and green olives. It is actually quite nice. Clear yellow, with continuous streams of carbonation, medium white head. Very cidery, with a nice vinous grassiness. Weak traces of apple core and olive remain on the palate. A bit like a good dry cider. Quite refreshing and unique.

Draft. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is swet with strong notes of fruit and medum notes of malt. The flavor is very tart - with notes of wine, as well as fruits and malt.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu on 2009-01-20) Pale amber and hazy. Small, quite quickly disappearing white head. Very strong aroma containing sourness, syrup and fruitiness. Full bodied and quite dry palate with surprising amount of carbonation. Fruitiness, sourness, bitterness, sweetness, some flavours reminding me of mixed fruit fool. Pepper, sourness and fruitiness in aftertaste.
