Bottled. Pours dark....generous caramels and malts, probably a little oversweetened for my tastes. ........................

Bottle. A really fine beer. Compared this one and the Oaked Butt Head Bock at the same time. Oak was better, but not by much. May want the regular kind when drinking several. Oak might be a bit overpowering. Highly recommended.

Notes from 1/9/2009. 1.99/5 rDev -45.6% look: 3 - smell: 1.5 - taste: 2.5 - feel: 1.5 - overall: 1.5 Not quite within four months of date notched, but here we go. Flat crack of the cap. Murky honey brown pour. An inch of off-white head with no retention. Dregs sitting tight at the bottom of the bottle. Incredibly rich. Riesen Chocolate Caramels, rumcake, dates macerating in stiff brandy. Sloppy. Way too much. It drinks a little better. Lots of toffee & bread pudding. A ton of residual sugars. Mild tangy hop bite. Maybe a little bitterness from the perceived clove. Some smoke. Significant alcohol burn & brown sugar on the finish. Slippery mouthfeel. Downright thin & greasy. Carbonation gives an effort. I had a two of these. I guess I was just in a ugly mood. Why did I drink two of these?!

(Keg at Tommyknocker Helsinki, 20170626) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and nearly white. Aroma had malts, caramel and lots of treacle. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, molasses, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. An excessively sweet bock.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy copper with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is toasted grain and caramel. Medium body, caramel, spice, grain, light finish, decent.

355ml bottle. Reddish brown, thin white head. Strawberry marmalade in aroma, flavor does not differ that much. Malty, almost boozy finish.

Bottle. Pours clear rich hazel, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is rich and malty, a bit smoky, toffee and woody notes. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter, very malty and rich, caramel notes prominent. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

Wow, someone at the brewery likes sweet beers, I however, do not. On draft, deep brown to red in the tulip glass with almost no head. Aroma of sugary caramel candy, some dark fruit notes, hints of vanilla, alcohol burn in the taste, mouthfeel is like carpet from the sweetness.

Backlog, from notes. On tap @ the brewpub in Phoenix, AZ, 16 May 2001. Brown color. Aroma’s: caramel, sugarry/syruppy, malt, some alcohol. Flavor is moderate sweet with some acidity from the carbonation. Too strong for this Arizona weather, but luckily the airco was working.
