Pleasant sweet bitter taste with very fine hints of caramel. Old paper ratings before Ratebeer, so why not rate them in hindsight.

355ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with small, frothy, fading, white head. Grassy and minimally floral hoppy aroma, caramel malty background, a fruity touch of canned fruit, light herbal-spicy aspects as well, almost whiffs of marmite. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, slightly fruity hoppy, hints of canned fruit, peach, pear, mild hop bitterness, minimally metallic interludes. Slightly creamy-oily, watery texture, smooth and slightly dry palate, very fine, soft to flat carbonation. Obviously member of the Grandfather generation of craft beers, pretty basic - OK.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of faint malt. Taste is lightly hoppy, slight citrus notes. Palate is rather plain, slight lemongrass notes on the nose. Good light beer.

Bottle from the brewery in Portland. Pours a clean golden colour with a frothy warm cap, decent lasting with minimal lacing. Sweet nose giving some fruitiness, ending up showing cereal grains. The taste has the cereal again, with caramel notes and hops that seem a little out of place for this one. Does get a little better and does get bitter. OK, not that much, but a decent dry finish occurs. Not a bad golden ale.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, with bready malt, corn and straw. Flavour is similar, with straw, light corn and sweet bready malt. Weak and cheap-tasting, but clean enough. Meh.

355ml bottle. Pours a clear gold-orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Mild aroma of grainy malt and caramel. Sweet flavour of wheat malt, caramel and a hint of orange with a dry, bitter grass finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Ok.
