Sotholmen Extra Stout är döpt efter Sotholmen vid Landfjärden strax norr om Nynäshamn. Denna extra stout är gjord på kraftigare vört än sin lillebror Sotholmen Stout. Detta ger ölen en kraftig och komplex smak av bl.a. kaffe. Prova den gärna till en bit chokladtryffel. Som alla våra öl är den opastöriserad – och bryggd med omsorg och kärlek.

Black colour with small beige head.Aroma of coffee and chocolate nice roasted and toasted taste has some flavour of licorice and cocoa to mild dry and smooth finish.

Bottle at home in Hackney - I believe I inherited this from someone else’s rotbox. Seems the best before was about 10 years ago. Light to medium sweet flavour, some very relaxed roast, a little simple cocoa, nips of dark fruits, raisins, ash, a little oxidation. Light to medium bodied with quite delicate carbonation. Sweet finish, plenty of spent tobacco, bitter scorched earth, ashy roast, baking cocoa. Not bad overall. Has held up pretty well.

Keg at the Bishops Arms Östersund. This didn't do it for me which was a shame as the weaker version did. Still alright with a nice espresso foam but little going on in the taste.

Bottle at Zum Franziskaner. Almost black, beige head. Almost an herbal aroma. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, herbal notes.

0,25 flaske fra Systembolaget Malmø, på hytta nov-17: brunsvart med fint skum som vare. Tjære, kreosot, grunnsmøring for treski, mørk sjokolade og kaffe. Kraftig (7% iflg etiketten) og god. Fint balansert bitterhet i den tørre ettersmaken. Kjøper gjerne denne igjen. 0,25 er en fin flaskestørrelse for enkeltmannsrating.

Aroma røsted malt, kaffe, mørke frukter. Utseende sort med beige skum. Smak sjokolade, lakris, mørke frukter, kaffe, røsted malt. Medium fylde, frisk, fruktig i starten, kaffe i avslutningen. Flaske helst med DjOeye mai-15, 25cl 7%

Cask@Bishops Arms, Gustav Torg, Malmö - (wow Top 50 Foreign Stout, nice find) pours black with a creamy tan head. Roasted and sweet malty aroma and taste, nice decadent notes of chocolate and caramel, rich and sweet, some charred burnt malty accents in the finish, top stuff.
