Draught at EBF 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark. Clear medium to dark amber brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, rum notes, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [140908]

On tap at EBF 08. One of the beers of the festival for me. Four Grain Stout, but with caribbean rum. Black, lasting thick tan head. Wow, that is outstanding. The rum comes through, but doesn’t dominate. Aroma of roasted grain. Vinous. Brilliant. It’s like a really goood shiraz or cab sav. The complexity and intensity shines through. It’s not just normal choc and coffee, it’s more complex, made with Burtonised water. Finish is outstanding. Incredible clean/mineral feel.

Draft. A pitch black beer wtih a huge creamy brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and rum, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Had this at the European Beer Festival Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Pours dark brown. Good and ctasty malty beer, with decent soft burtness, some well hidden alcohol. I found this to be really quite tasty and it went very well with my bar of fig and almond chocolate.
