Bottle. Pours nearly clear very dark brown with shades of dark ruby and small light tan head. Clear aroma of nuts, roast, touches of honey and malt. Sour-sweetish and roasty flavour of malt, yeast and hops, with some hints of fruit and leaves. Bitter aftertaste with sourish and roasty touches. A little watery. Drinkable and not that bad but nothing to go out of one’s way for.

On tap at Henriks. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a pretty small off-white head. Nice sweet and roasted malt aromas of both dark bitter chocolate and milk chocolate, with a touch chocolate truffles in the end. Some coffee is also present. The flavour is less sweet with more coffee and some salt licorice in the end, and maybe a hint of chili. Surprisingly medium bitterness, and a smooth but also a bit sparkly mouth feel. A decent dark ale which is also pretty easy.drinking. Nice aromas but too shallow in the flavour. Cannot say I found much of the special ingredient in this beer, and appears as an okay porter.

On tap @ Henrik. This is a deep dark ruby brown beer with a small sidesticking beige head. On the aroma I get some thin roasted malts, cold coffee, licorice and some dark caramel. It has a light oily texture and a soft carbonation level. Light roasted in the flavor with hints of licorice and leather and wet cardboard. Ends with a light yogurt-sourness. Subtle in both aroma and flavor - all the way and it never really got my full attention. Not a especially good beer either. 07.05.2012

Dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet malty, roasted malt and a sort of smoky note (not like in a smoked beer but hard to describe). Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and bitter finish. Boring. 110311

(Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 17 June 2010) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of dark bread, chocolate and dark fruit. Roasted, malty taste with dark bread, raisins, chocolate, coffee and a dry bready finish with a spicy bitterness. Fairly dry. Medium body. Very nice, leaning in the schwarzbier direction.

Draught at Brewpub Köbenhavn, on May 7, 2010Shady dark red color, smallish tan head. Hoppy, melon, red berries taste, fresh but a bit wierd. Like a melon ice cream or something, a bit acidic. Acidic and herbal scent. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterenss.

An unclear brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as medium notes of malt, and lighter notes of bread, sugar, and tobacco.
