Our version of the Imperial Stout style is a deep black color with a medium-full body that comes from the 5 specialty malts used. Hopping is moderate with some bitterness to balance the malt flavors. After conditioning for over a year the aromas of dried dark fruits like fig, raisins, dates and prunes plays into the flavors of roasted chocolate and coffee. The yeast used for fermentation is an American strain that ferments clean with little ester formation, yielding an American styled Imperial Stout. Even with the elevated ABV, this ale is very smooth and has little alcohol burn.

Growler fill - Thanks Chad! Pours a dark brown, near black with a small tan head. Aroma is heavy roast with coffee and hints of chocolate. Flavor is like a mocha blended with coffee, roasty, and a little bit fruity. I like the sweet elements into the coffee and the creaminess of the palate quite well on this one.

Gowler transported from the brewpub by Harlequin. Sweet roasted aroma and roasted toootsie roll flavors. Not enough IBUs for an imperial but pretty tame in general. Flat fromt he 2 day old growler. Not bad though. Thabks Chad
