Couple of glasses from tap at BeerTemple, with Matthijs, James and the gang, 20th March 2024. It’s in the board as 14 % Pours a black beer, not as thick as expected. Aroma is cocoa, chocolate and wood, barrel, vanilla and liquor. Taste is perfect, lots of barrel character, bourbon shines, well integrated. Excellent

Pours a pitch black body and a small brown head that quickly recedes. Aroma's: umami, wood, bourbon, fudge. Retronasal: sweet, (perhaps a bit too) boozy, woody. Flavour is above moderate sweet and somewhat roasty bitter, with a hint of alcohol sourness. Strong alcohol feel, warming. Above medium bodied. Long finish with chocolate and fudge.

Yeah this is a top notch beer. Just a proper version of the style. Not pushing anything out of the ordinary on you. Just hits all the spots wonderfully. Beertemple ams

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2023) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, slightly vinous nose with oak wood, bourbon, liquorice, soy sauce and espresso. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with notes of oak wood, sweet espresso, bourbon, vanilla, liquorice and a warming, vinous finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Rich and quite powerful with a generous bourbon barrel character. Great beer!
