Dulle Teve is brewed with a white candy in the kettle and has 10 percent alcohol per volume. It is for sale almost all year round in the brewery.
Dulle Teve is a swear name used in the region for a nasty woman. This was first used by a pub owner who wanted his own beer and was tasting two different possibilities in the Oerbar. His wife became increasingly impatient and phoned him. At that moment the pub owner remarked: "Do you know what you are? A dulle teve!" The brewer immediately saw possibilities: "Now we have to make a beer, we already have the name," he said.

Bottle at home, one year old. Murky light brown with barely any head, just some big bubbles. Lots of cane sugar and pears. Spices, licorice, cinnamon buns, banabread, ice tea, bitter herbs, wort, long cooked English hops, and lime peel. Quite sweet, but with a medium bitter finish that balances it nicely. Medium to full bodied. Very strange beer, big. bold and somehow it seems like it’s not fully fermented.

4 oz pour on draft at B Side. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of flora, citrus fruit and peel, light honey. Tastes of stone fruit, pineapple and tropical fruit, floral, herbs, spice. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Flasche (33 cl) von Getränkefeinkost Berlin. - Orangegelb, trüb mit unschönen Schwebteilchen; wenig Schaum. - Nase angenehm malzsüßlich und matt herb-fruchtig mit süßen Rosinen und Waldhonig. - Antrunk gedämpft herbfruchtig (Pfirsichkern) und ungeniert kandiszuckersüß mit Karamel und leichter zitroniger Herbe (Orangenschale). Andeutungen von Moder und überreifen Weintrauben. Mild rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang milde aber deutliche "englische" Hopfennoten; herb trotz anhaltender Kandissüße. - Interessantes Tripel, das sich gegenüber einem herkömmlichen Tripel durch Andeutungen von Moder und muffiger Schärfe auszeichnet, ohne auf die typischen Tripel-Zutaten plakative Kandissüße und fruchtige Herbe zu verzichten.

Bottle from Beergusto web shop. Unclear dark golden color with huge white head. Malty aroma with herbal hops, spices, candy. Sweet malty taste with fruity sourness, biscuits, coriander, clove, alcohol. Strong alcoholic finish. Overall well balanced beer. Tasty.

0,33L bottle, bottled 02.06.2013. Pours golden with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fruits, citrus, fresh apples, spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, apples, citrus, caramel, and spices. Alcohol is very well covered. Finish is citrus bitter. Everything is very well balanced. Overall: no gimmicks, just a great beer.

The ’mad bitch’, Dolle’s unsubmissive tripel since 1993, originally a commissioned beer. Firm, thick, off-white head, quickly decreasing under the influence of the alcohol content. Deep orange blonde colour, misty. The nose is treated with a strong smell of orange juice and orange liqueur, richly perfumed with flowery hops, honey, caramel candy, vanilla, apple peel, jute, dried ginger, peppermint, nutmeg, grass, pineapple. Sweet onset with lots of caramel malts and orange, strong carbonation, smooth, evolving into a rewarding dry, flowery and herbal hop bitterness, supported by a lot of warming alcohol, on the brink of becoming astringent but just managing to remain undisturbing. Keeps well in the cellar too, certainly for a Dolle beer, which are usually at their best when cracking fresh from tap at the brewery itself.

Bottle @ ’t Poatersgat, Brugge. Pours cloudy lightish amber with stable white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt and flowers, with notes of hops. Booze in the long nose. Sweet flavour of caramel malt and fruit, complemented rich notes of hops and flowers. Rough and swetish afteraste. Warming alcohol presence, permeating every aspect of the tasting experience, but it is well-integrated. Nice. Very nice.
