Bottle from the brewery. Morning spent at the Bank Holiday Chilli festival at Benington and afternoon making pizza dough with the youngest ready to fire up the wood fired oven later. Huge head on the beet with bitter on the nose and plenty on the taste. A surprising soft mouthfeel and very drinkable. Nothing special, but pretty good.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - a bit lively. Golden with a big head. Nose - suspected wild yeast infection confirmed. Lemon tang and wild woodiness. Taste - more lemon and wood notes. Wild yest prevalent. Palate - light bodied and tangy. Long, dry, tangy finish. Overall - it’s infected.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden with a thick white head. High carbonation. Smells infected! Sherbet and sherry. Taste is bitter, cardboard, woody yeast. Not great.

Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. This was an aged bottle from the chriso rotbox, of unknown provenance. Cheers! Pours clear golden yellow with a white cream topping. Oxidation is quite apparent in the aroma, with secondary notes of mild lemon rind and bread. Light sweet flavour with moderate tang, more oxidation present, faint rindy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with tangy lemon notes. Meh, it’s clearly a bit past its prime.

Cask sampled @ St. Arnolds Day Beer Festival 2013, The Old Wine Vaults, Faversham. Practically clear, golden to amber body with a small, off-white head. Not much aroma at all, just a hint of malt and soap. Flavor is light, sweet malt without much bitterness or anything else. Medium body and short aftertaste. Quite boring and uninspired beer.

Cask gravity at The Bell Inn, Ivychurch, Kent. Gold, thin white head. Not bad. Interesting bit of grapefruit. Pale malts are excellent. Touch of sweet fruit. Very good, I like this, easy drinking, decent fruit and malt and some ok hop.

Cask at FFTMC Autumn Beer Festival, Oxford 24-09-09 Pours light amber/warm gold with a white filmy head. The aroma is sadly lacking. Taste is tangy but with some metallic edges, touch of sweetness and a bit of dryness at end. Nothing wrong with this beer but the third rather uninspiring beer I’ve had this evening. Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and fruit, but also an acidic edge, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.
