Bottle, 0.50l. Clear amber brown color with thick soapy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, honey, grass, dust and flowers. Taste starts with light sweet but rich caramel malt, follows citric and grassy with dry and mild spicy mouthfeel and moderate bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Classic bitter, not so bad...

Pours a clear coppery amber color, topped with a medium sized white foamy head. Mild fruity nose, hardly any picked up, really. A bit grassy. Sweet and mildly fruity. No real bitterness. Just some mild bittery herbs in the aftertaste. Light, very drinkable. Nothing special, though.

About 200 yen from the Seiyu in Minami-Kusatsu for a 500ml bottle, 4.5% - this is dirt cheap for Japan. I am not a fan of clear bottles but what can you do. It pours a light copper gold with a light beige/off-white head. The aroma is quite malty, graham, biscuit, caramel plus at first you get some skunkiness but it isn’t that pronounced. The body is quite thin with a rough sandpaperish carbonation giving it a sharp mouthfeel. The taste is grainy, sawdust, a bitter hit and a brief sweet caramel hit. The finish is pretty good with a nice biscuity caramel plus some hoppy bitterness. A decent cheap ale for the price.
