A gentle maltiness on the nose deceives as a massive hop flavour envelopes the tongue. Lots of organic Perle and Halletauer hops give the correct levels of bitterness, making this delicately hued pilsner true to the German style, as well as enabling it to stand up much better than most lagers to stronger flavours such as mature cheeses, hams and smoked meats, or oily fish.

18th September 2008. Tasting at the brewery. This was just 4.7% abv. Pale gold. Very light malt with a grassy undertone. Crisp and dry. Just a touch of hops providing some dry fruit. Minerally.

Bottle that I picked up from Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, Oxon, recently. Pours gold, clean, crisp and moderately bitter, its about where I would expect it to me and as a glugging beer whilst I cooked it did the trick. A5 A4 F6 P3 Ov11 2.9
