Bottle at home in northern Ireland. Chestnut brown copper coloured pour with a lasting loose cream coloured head. Aroma is twiggy, earthy, caramel, little mushroom. A little dried apple and raisin on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of nutty, twiggy malts, dried fruit, little alcohol bite. Little bitterness in the finish. Palate is medium sweet, moderate carbonation.

Hazy amber color with a big tan head. Good looking ale. Nice lacing. Bready, malty and fruity aroma. Nice body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Maybe a bit rich carbonation. Oily texture. Bready, malty, fruity, plums and raisins in the flavor. When I rate this one, it is listed as a porter….hmmm more like a low alcohol Barley Wine. Tasty ale.

Dark-brown in the glass with a more white-than-beige head. For a porter quite light in colour... The beer starts smooth, fruity and roasted-rich. The mainpart is smooth, long and intense. Dark fruit, roasted malt. But in total more a dark ale than a Porter (and on the lable it doesn’t specify its style). The aftertaste is roasted-dark, dry and nicely bittered.
In total a nice dark ale. Fruity-roasted and bitter. --> 12/11/12/12

Ruby brown, frothy off white head that dissipates to thin layer, little lacing
Aroma of soft sweet caramel malts, soft fruits - raisin, hint of red berries, toasted malts, light aroma
Taste as aroma, some more light toasted malt, bit of tangy red fruits, light soft toffee
Palate - Medium carb, thinnish palate, light bitter. Finish - more bitter toasted malts and hops, slight coffee.
Overall - No way this is a porter, more a Irish red ale - brown bitter hybrid. Wasn’t overly keen on this initially but got better with the drinking. Probably better cask, this bottle was a bit thin and a tad fizzy....didn’t expect this to be in the high 70s
