22 oz bottle from my 2010 Winter Secret Santa. Best before last day of J(anuary) notched on label. Pour is a slight haze copper golden with a thick three inch off white head. Head holds for a long time. Aroma is dry straw, and a bit of resin. Touch of toasty malt present in the back. Taste is the dusty resin and straw, balanced decently with the toasted malt. The finish has a bit of dirtiness, along with a sharp mineral. Palate is medium to light bodied, light carbonation and the dirty finish. Nice, though was likely past the prime for the hops. Thanks Santa, great box!

American Beer Disto (Bomber $5): Pours a muddy light brown color with a thick beige head. Definitely on the darker side of IPAs. Aroma is of caramel malts, earthy hops, and a whiff of ethanol. This IPA veers very strongly towards the malty side of things. Toffee flavors. Thick and earthy. Hop bitterness is definitely there and leaves a proper aftertaste. Would be sessionable.

Location: Tap at Hop Devil, 4/10/10

Aroma: The nose has some caramel notes and citrus notes
Appearance: Hazy caramel colored beer with a smallish head
Flavor: The taste is grassy, caramel, some hops - fairly balanced
Palate: Dry, medium bodied, drinkable
Overall Impression: A solid, hardly memorable as an original or a stand-out, but it is certainly a drinkable IPA.

Growler from the Libation Station in Johnson City, TN. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a medium sized creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops with caramel malts. Well balanced. Taste is leafy, bitter hops with toffee, nutty notes and a very faint bit of chocolate. Medium bodied and quite drinkable.

Fresh from a growler filled three hours ago. Slightly hazy medium orange with a tall, sticky white head that coats the sides of the glass. Some earthy, citrus hops in the aroma. The flavor balance is a tad towards the sweet malt side but there is good hop bitterness keeping it in check. Very drinkable IPA.

8th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Hazy dark brown beer. Sour dry IPA with lots of grapefruit bitterness. Not the smoothest or subtlest of IPAs but sure wakes the taste buds! Low carbonation.

more of an english ipa than an american. leaned more to the flowery hops than the citrusy hops. not bad but a little hard to define.

22oz bottle-pours a dissipating light tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel, orange. Taste is orange/some pine hops, medium malt-caramel, towards medium body. Easy, malty, towards a PA.

Bottle - thanks mcox90. A hazy brownish golden pour (almost like a dull honey color) with a huge beige head. Strong nose is sweet with citrus, light florals, and a hint of yeast. The strong presence of a Belgian yeast and spicyness really caught me off guard. Lingering florals and some malt character. Kind of gets sour and a little soapy in the tail. Different, but not something I’d have again.
