Cask @ Lord Nelson, Ipswich. Clear deeper golden ale with a small head. Easy enough in strength, it could be a session brew. It's fairly bland-hoppy with a sweet nose.

Cask at the Pickerel, Cambridge. Mid-gold with a tiny whitish head. Light grapefruit, peach and toast notes. Taste is more bitter than sweet, bringing out the citrus elements. Too bitter in the finish but otherwise quite pleasant. Slightly better than your average golden beer.

Cask gravity at The Hub at Whittlesey, Saturday 10th January 2015 on Whittlesey Straw Bear weekend (we stopped at Peterborough Central Travelodge) Fairly run of the mill golden. This lacks bitterness and not so hoppy. I guess that I should have known with Woodfordes not to have high hopes. Pretty boring. A5 A4 T6 P2 Ov11 2.8

Couple of pints or so from a Polly Pin at a party on 7th June 2014, some 6 miles from the brewery. Light golden with a wisp and collar. Pleasant enough blend, with the malts just about winning in both the aroma and taste stakes. Mildly bitter finish, ideal session garden ale on a warm Norfolk day.

(Cask at Penderels Oak JDW, Holborn, London, 19 May 2010) Golden amber colour with creamy, white head. Fruity nose with orange, apricots and biscuity malt. Fruity taste with notes of apricots, orange, biscuity malt and a fresh citrussy bitterness in the finish. Below medium body, balanced sweetness. Refreshing summer ale.
