Bottle online from Cheddar Ales Brewery. Lively on opening, slight gusher. Pours a murky muddy amber colour with a large thick foamy off white head. Aromas of toffee and caramel, biscuits, floral, some twigs and earthy hops. Also hints of citrus orange. Taste has more upfront notes of citrus orange with more caramel and biscuits in the background. Orange peel, earthy and floral hops and also herbal notes on the finish. A little sweetness and bitterness hanging around at the end . Nicely balanced. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Decent beer.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Dec 20. Thanks haddock for this real ale. Amber appearance, well-apportioned off-white head. Soft malty nose. Medium to light bodied, gentle carbonation, gentle malt-led bitter character, a little subdued but probably better on cask. Ok overall.

5/2/2019. Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Pours amber with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, hops, caramel and flowers. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily and slightly watery texture, soft carbonation. Moderate lasting bitterness to finish. Looks the part, and grew on me a bit but disappointing overall.

Bottle at home. Dark gold, almost orange. No head, reasonable carbonation. Aroma of yeast and grassy hops, with a bit of lemon. Taste is initially sweet with some light salt /umami notes. Finish is slightly more bitter. A nice beer with a simple profile, not quite as good as I remember.

500ml bottle. Clear orangey dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally grainy and strawy aroma, fruity notes of gooseberry and other pale berries. Taste is minimally grainy, slightly bitter hoppy overtones, minimally sweet fruity touch of pale berries.

[500ml bottle (from Millets Farm Shop, nr Abingdon) that Dad shared with me - cheers!] Light amber with a large off-white head and a slight fizz. Heavily sedimented. Lemon, malt and hay with a decent bitterness. A little creaminess in the finish. Decent enough bitter.
