Cask at GBBF '18, day 3, 09/08/18. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige head. Nose is dusty fruits, brown bread, biscuit crumbs, dried fruits, light ashen notes. Taste comprises fruit cake, tobacco, raisins, bourbon biscuit, brown bread, light charr. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent mild.

9/8/2018. Cask at the Great British Beer Festival. Pours mahogany brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of fruit, malt, milk chocolate and vanilla. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. A decent mild.

Cask at GBBF. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, oily, brown bread, fruit cake, earth and leather. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, tannin, leather, oily, resin, bark and spice with a drying finish. Light body and low carbonation. Ok aroma but lacking flavour.

Half pint at Wainwright Pub. Pours a clear amber brown with a grayish brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of bread and light roast with a nuttiness backing plus a hint of umami. Flavor has notes of bread and grains with some butterscotch and light roast backing.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A brown beer with a red shine under a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of soy sauce, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark roasted malty and light breadish. Roasted malty and slight bitter flavoured. Roasted and breadish finish.

6th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Very smooth mild fruit and very mild toasty malt. Slightly sour. A particularly mild mild! Agreeable.
