Mayflower Porter is a rich, complex brew that is smooth and full-flavored. Five varieties of malted barley provide notes of roasted coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate with a hint of smokiness.
Porter pours into the glass a dark chocolate hue with some amber highlights. The creamy head is a latte-tinted froth which sticks around and laces nicely as you finish your pint. As you tilt the glass towards you, you are met with subtle hints of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and wood fire smoke. The flavors coming out of the glass mimic the aromas. You’re met with waves of dark chocolate cake, rich dark espresso, and light smoke from your bonfire. This porter has a medium body and an average carbonation for the style. It finishes dry, leaving you wanting another sip. This beer is to be enjoyed to its fullest illuminating the dark winter months of New England.

4 pack at home reasonably priced. Dark pour and pretty head. Nose is chocolate and roast. Tastes quite the same hint of tobacco, plum to boot. Thinner bodied. Easy drinking.

Can, from TapRm. Pours dark brown almost black with faint red highlights against the light, foamy tan head, roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, bitter roasted malt-coffee taste with faint maltose, thin body, long bitter finish. Quite nice.

Draft and bottles since debut.
Clear, auburn-mahogany highlights in a dark mahogany body. Small, light-tan head shows moderate retention.
Very straightforward, English-evolved porter with great roast, dark fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate and strong fruity esters. Clean and malty with no alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it shows a great balance between high attenuation and lightly sticky, malty, sweet chocolate and caramel. Coffee-like notes are mild and fruity. Soft-to-slick, chocolatey and with engaging carbonation. Substantial but also very drinkable and refreshing. Back before I stopped drinking real beer and started drinking novelty beer, I always looked forward to this one.

I got this bottle in a trade with nutbrown. Thanks Alan!
This pours a clear dark brown with reddish highlights. There's a good ~2 finger head of foam and there's some nice lacing.
The smell is a nice mix of roasted malt, chocolate and light coffee.
The taste is a rich roasted malt flavour with side notes of light coffee and some dark chocolate. This is pretty yummy!
Mouthfeel is light and the carbonation is on the low end of medium. Btw, the head retention is average but the lacing refuses to give up the battle. ;^)
Drinkability is *very* good and being only 5.5%abv helps. I'm having no problem emptying my glass and if I had another bottle, I'd tap that baby as well.
Bottom line: This is a *very* tasty and oh so enjoyable English Style Porter. I'm impressed with what Mayflower Brewing has done here.

A brown from a bottle, somewhat burnt molasses smell and herbal schnapps notes in the mouth for some reason, like a coughdrop or jagermeister. Okay beer.
