Poured from 473mL can (finally found the missing year as a single; has a little age on it now, and not in the recipe-sense). Clear-ish amber gold with small white head. Definitely getting some crystal and caramel malt on the nose with a very feint citrus note. Taste is a touch muted with same malts being most dominant, feint breadiness and a mild dry bitter floral hop background character. Interesting historical beer. Phenols as it warms - lowered rating.

473 ml can. Pours a dull amber with moderate head. Aromas of candied citrus and bready malts. Flavors of a candied citrus and doughy malts. Simple. Nice enough, though doesn’t seem historic.

Can pour at East Side Beer Fest. Pours murky gold with a white head. Slightly floral hops on the nose. Flavour has biscuit malts, floral, slightly bitter. Pretty solid.

473mL can, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma has subtle oak, gentle wild yeast, bready malt, and some earthy bitterness. Flavour is much the same, with earthy hops, dry bready malt, and a touch of metallic oakiness. Earthy, dry, and bready. Solid pre-IPA IPA.

Amber, hazy, bubbly head. Smells pretty malty, sticky. Yeah, on the palate this is strong, sticky, has a fairly robust hop character, orangey, melon. Not far off what the modern IPA is, other than the overly sticky sugars.
