Half-pint, cask ale outdoor at Cemetery Hotel. Nitro white head, next-to-clear golden body. Spotty lacing. Pale malts on the nose, some citric hints. Taste of lemony hops and bread. Rounded mid-sweet fruity ending. Fair enough. (Rochdale 05.05.2018).

Cask. Yellowish golden colour, small bubbly head. Aroma is floral, grassy, nectary and a bit sulphury with some herbal notes. Flavour is herbal, honeylike sweetness, some bready and grassy notes to it. Surprisingly earthy and bitter golden ale.

21st April 2012: opening of the refurbished ‘Elephant and Castle’ in Dawley, Shropshire. Hand pulled pint: the body was a pale, clear, straw blond colour, small white head. Hoppy nose, both floral and citrusy, mild malt content as the beer warmed. Hop bitterness rules the taste stakes, this is a dry beer; pink grapefruit came to mind as the main non-beery flavour. The alcohol sits well within the brew and overall this is an easy drinking, refreshing beer.

Cask, gravity at Merton Summer Beer Festival, 17-07-10 A clean gold colour with a white head, looks really good. Simple but pleasant clean, citrussy aroma, Fruity with loads of citrus in the mouth and a nice bitterness, some juicy orange, touch dry at the end. I think that if I’d have had time to sit and drink this and relax its rating may have been better and probably closer to Glen’s but I kept taking snatches of this in between serving and so it was treated a little unfairly. Good beer all the same. A7 A4 T8 P3 Ov15 3.7
