On cask at the Alexander Graham Bell. Appearance - opaque black with a decent head. Nose - some roast then tar. Very slight note of dark chocolate. Taste - more tar going into liquorice. Still not hugely chocolate. Something savoury in there too. Palate - medium bodied with a dry tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - interesting stout. Got better down the glass.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Station Inn, Oakengates on 6th Dec 13. Black and Stout like (what a surprise): Almost Jet Black in fact with a thin tanned foam covering. Malty, dark chocolate nose and taste: semi-bitter front and back, nice almost burnt feel to the flavour: a decent Stout on all counts.

(Cask at Pikkulintu, 20130220) The beer poured black. Its head was smalll, long lasting, white and sparse. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, coffee, creaminess, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A good stout with a bit too harsh bitterness in the aftertaste.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Opaque dark brown beer. Light dry palate. Rich toasted malt, a little tangy. Finish is over dry. Once again a bit ’meh’ from BB.
