Bottiglia.

Bottle at Fujiyama 55 Leiden. Pours black, rather thick head. Aroma is dark malts, roasted barley, chocolate. Medium body. Flavour is malty, lots of dark malts, smooth, chocolate, Belgian. More somewhere between a dubbel and a Belgian strong than a stout. But not bad. Finish is bittersweet. Not bad.

Bottle at home. Thanks Raphael. Dark brown colour with creamy beige head. Aroma is yeasty, chocolate, bit floral, nice roastiness. Taste is surprisingly different. Quite sweet, fruity and maybe a bit bitter hoppy all at the same time. Still some chocolate there but at the finish. Has that Belgian feel too. Hint of roast, but the fruity sweetness is very dominant to start with. Cherry maybe, touch of citrus too. I really like it but seems like I am the only one. Maybe it has improved with age. Not really very stout-like though.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Soft caramelly spicy aroma. Sweetish, malty caramelly soft spicy flavor. Hint of alcohol. No unpleasant, but the character is too subtle.

6 October 2018. At Modeste Bierfestival, Antwerp. Cheers to Anke & Elke!
Clear brown, red hue, with a lasting, thin, unstable, foamy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of soy sauce, beef stock, salted peanut, fondant, blackcurrant, toast, prune. Taste is medium malty sweet, nutty & a bit chocolatey with a faint meaty umami note; light roasted bitterness balances fondant & herbal notes, touch of blackcurrant. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, toasty, lingering dark fruit, warming liqueur alcohol but not exaggerated. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Not a straightforward Stout; bit thin too.

Bottle from Takumi Craft Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark chestnut brown colour with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is sweet roasted malt, nuts, liqourice. The flavour is strong sweet with a dry, rich, smoky malt, light sugary fruit, warm alcoholic, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. So sweet it was hard to drink the whole bottle.
