Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

Bottle from Liz. Pours darkish amber with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of roast malt with something like herb. Med body; foamy, sharp carb. Flavor is roast malt, and something that’s bitter. I’d say this is more dry and bitter than not. Tho some sweet malt seems to creep back in the finish. Arguably crisp.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Amber, thick white head. Not much aroma to speak of. Taste is plain bitterness, not much else. My least favorite of the 6 we sampled that day.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel and lots of citrus and peach notes from the hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, peaches, and oranges, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

12 oz bottle from Sparky27. Pour is a hazed orangish ruby. One inch off white head falls pretty quickly, with some lacing. Aroma of resin, grain, spicy black pepper bitterness and a mineral earthiness. Interesting nose. Taste is resin toasted malt grain with strong resin hoppiness on top of that. The mineral earthiness is present, mostly in the dirty finish. As this warmed, a weird sour spicy vegetable character came out that detracted. Palate is unfiltered, thinnish to watery. Normal carbonation, nice drinkable beer. Thanks Eric.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Some aroma hops in the nose together with overripe fruit and a light acidity. Light in body with notes of caramel and fruit and a distinct bitter finish, which comes a little surprising. 130608

12 fl oz bottle. Pours cloudy and golden orange with a lacing white head. Pinewood dry hoppy aroma. Flavour is initially dry hoppy with a solid bitterness accompanied with a light fruity note. Mild sweetness following before the finish. Ends dry and light malty.

Bottle from Park Lane Liquor in Lancaster, CA. The beer is a murky amber color with a medium and sudsy off-white head that burns off steadily. Spotty lacing. Malt and herbs in the nose with a bit of hops. Medium-bodied with malt, tart fruit and mildly bitter hops flavors. The herbal character is present in the background here as well. The finish is earthy malt with a short hoppy finish. Overall this is a decent Amber Ale, although not unique enough to feel compelled to try again.

Bottle. Cloudy amber pour, thin head. Malty aroma with notes of floral hops and paper. Flavor starts sweet and turns bitter. A touch of grapefruit and some off-putting perfuminess. Thin body and moderate carbonation. The hop and malt balance left a strange aftertaste for me. Not a favorite.
