From tap at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht. Aroma is fruity hops, lots of citrus, grassy hops, touch of lemon, lightly malt. Flavour is mildly sweet with a nicely bitter finish. Body is medium. Lovely IPA heavy on the citrus.

Draft at Bottle Grove, Eastbourne. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, stone fruit, light citrus, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Hazy IPA by the Burning Sky guys in Sussex, thanks to Didier Dieu on the bus back from Tilquin English Beer Festival. Snow white, moussy, opening, thinnish head (less creamy than usual for style), hazy yolk-yellow golden blonde robe. Aroma of green mango, lime zest, pomelo, guava, dried lemongrass, starfruit, moist white pepper. Citric, ‘fresh’ onset, pomelo and lime again, medium carbonated with sweetish notes of guava and maracuja, some starfruit perhaps, over a slick cereally pale malt sweetish core. Retronasally, a dank element pops in (sweating onion) but citrusy ‘fraîcheur’ and ‘green tropical fruit’ effects remain key, in a zesty, spicy bitter way. More hop bitter than average for a hazy IPA, but remaining very refreshing and brilliantly zesty. Apparently these guys are not only good at (sour) saisons.
