Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice red wine note with some dry honey underlying and a bit of grains. Flavor has the same red wine note supported by dry honey and a touch of sweet grains.

Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a hazy golden-orange color with a medium white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of oak, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of vinous oak, malt and honey. Slight floral hops in the background. The finish is oaky with a honey and wine aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

ABR 2016. i was really looking forward to trying this beer because of the wine barrel. Unfortunately I did not find the barrel to do very much for this beer. Gold color. Honey in the flavor and aroma, Surprisingly dry for a honey beer, and this might be the barrel influence. Minimal hop presence, which is fine. Dry finish.
