(Bottle 50 cl) Very unclear amber golden with a small, off-white head. Aromas of overripe fruit. Medium body with a very low carbonation. Flavours also of overripe fruit, wood noble rot and a sherry like edge. Some hops in the finish. Very British and very fascinating. 251106

Bottle (Wee Beast). Butterscotch/toffee, grass, and alcohol aroma. Clear reddish brown with moderate head. Sweet buttery toffee flavor with a fairly strong alcohol and hops finish.

Bottled (label has the beauty and the beast now) (BB 01/2006)
Hazy light amber-orange, good off-white, lace. Strong flowery hoppy aroma with orange and honey. Tar in the start - then good strong bitter hops with honey flavors and long bitter aftertaste. Alcohol really builds this ale up. Excellent brew from the small island.
I would put this to "A Scottish Ale" -style more thanto "A Scotch Ale".

A red brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with some weird notes of hops. The flavor is malty with notes of berries and roasted bread before a dry hoppy end sets in. A fine tasting beer.

Amber color. Interesting malt profile, between a Barley Wine and an IPA, with a long palate.

Bottled. Hazy amber. Flowery malty nose. Sweet, rich and soft with loads of toffee and notes of alcohol. Hop bitter finish.

Bottled. Dark orange and hazy. Big toffee aroma. Really full bodied. Lovely maltiness and filling mouthfeel. Balanced sweetness and loads of chocolate flavour - the finish as all chocolate. Low bitterness. A truly outstanding Scottish ale!

Dark amber, hazy. Strong malt character. A little caramel note. Arguably more of an English Strong that a Scotch Ale, but I doubt I''d try to argue that point on the Isle of Skye.
