Draught at Ølfestival København 2011. Black, small head. Light aroma of café au lait. Very sweet with soft mouthfeel. Coffee with double sugar and milk, notes of licorice. Just too sweet for me.

75cl bottle courtesy of The Wolf, thanks Rene. Very dark brown, black bofy with a thin tan head. Good yeast character on aroma and choc then fullish choc flavour in the mouth. Pretty good choccy tasting beer that went well with the ice cream I was eating at the time also whilst watching Australia collapse in the cricket which put me in a very good mood. Touch of whisky-ish malt on aroma . Not overly complex, but likeable enough beer. Good juiciness on swallow.

Bottle, 75cl corked, as no 124. A next to black beer with a tan head of minimal size. Some fine lacings left. Borderline 5 on appearance. Cellar, mould, roasted malts, chocolate and some coffee in the aroma. The flavor is slightly mouldy, with sweetness, roasted malts and coffee blending in. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A nice one, but I would like it slightly more hoppy. A nice one though. Rating: 6-4-7-4-14-3.5. 090116
Bottle, 75cl corked, at Ølfestival 2011, as no 242. It pours and unclear, dark brown body and a small, off-white to beige head. Roasted, caramel aroma with a pleasant grassy and piney hoppyness. There’s a nice hoppy bitterness in the flavor, with grass, pine cones and a touch of resins. A bit dull on the palate, medium bodied. Finishes with a decent bitterness. A mellow beer that didn’t interest me very much. 110527
