22 ounce bottle. Medium gold color. Subtle caramel malt nose. Bittersweet malt flavor. Light and spicy, but devoid of any Belgian character.

Bottled. Golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Turns hazy once the last drops from the bottle goes in. Aroma is citrus fruits, spices, mild candy as well as some mild earthyness. Flavour is fruity, spicy, mildly yeasty as well as sugary and mildly wooden. Pleasantly balanced.

750 ml. Cloudy golden body with a fizzy white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of clove, sweet apple, citrus, lemon. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Nice, dry finish. Along the lines of a classic triple and close to being really good. But it’s a bit grainy tasting and not very complex.

2008 bottle at Mr. Beery’s in Sarasota. Pours clear deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is full and pungent sweetness from sugary malts to very ripe pears, apricots and apples as well as mild sweet honey notes. The taste is oh so smooth with smooth sweet malts melding into a mix of ripe fruity sweetness like pears, apples and apricots. I also get mild sweet honey notes, smooth muted and blended spiciness and a faint touch of yeast. Just silky smooth and yummy all the way around.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods-Bowery, 4/23/10

Aroma: The nose has some citrus to it, as well as a strong spice presence, and some sugary notes
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear orange color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is medium-high sweet, lots of spice, and minimal bitterness
Palate: This one has a light body, a somewhat oily mouthfeel, and a lively carbonation
Overall Impression: Overall, I found this beer to be pretty enjoyable. A nice flavorful American attempt at the style. Good, not great, but very solid.

Pours light gold into a trappist glass. Bright white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Candi and light bubblegum aromas. Thin upfront with hay and bread turning tingly and hot in the lasting dusty fruit and hop finish.
