Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brownh with a small cream head. There’s lactose and coffee present in the understated nose. The main sensation in the mouth is of sweetness. Lactose and coffee are again prominent, but joined by dark fruits and plums. Later on roast malts come through plus hints of chocolate. Finish is sweet and dry. Reasonable, but a bit bland.
